Strategic Negotiation Workshop

This very effective and customized solution is designed for organizations that desire a training initiative. During this two-day workshop, participants are transitioned from their “intuitive” negotiation method to a diagnostic process that enables the structure of their live negotiations to be more appropriately analyzed. Our content focuses on raising the skill level of the participant to world-class. This repeatable process and approach results in a rational process that creates true value for business negotiation.

Day One

Morning Session: Audit Negotiation Skills

The primary purpose of this exercise is to audit the individual strengths and weaknesses of each negotiator. Specifically, this is accomplished through execution of a live negotiation that looks at how negotiation planning and execution impact financial outcomes. Financial outcomes are defined as the creation and subsequent division of business value between buyer and seller.  The rest of the morning of day one and into the afternoon allows participants to build on their own negotiation strengths and shore up weaknesses using the Think! strategic negotiation blueprint that drives improved outcomes.

Afternoon Session: Apply the Process to Individual Live Negotiations

The team will execute a second live negotiation customized to reflect the realities of their ad hoc negotiating environment with existing customers.  In this exercise, the negotiators will employ a process-oriented approach to creating and dividing measurable business value in negotiation.  The actual improvement in negotiation skills is drastic from the morning in terms of both process and outcomes.

Day Two

Morning Session: Negotiation Process Improvement / Behavior Change

The Think! strategic negotiation process is applied to blueprinting, in detail, to “live” participant negotiations, typically expected to close in the next 45 days.  The ROI for companies and participants is immediate.  Common language and process is now starting to embed in your team.

Afternoon Session: Embed the Negotiation Process

The final exercise allows negotiators to practice negotiating in teams on the most complex, strategic negotiations with a new customer. This is contrasted to the afternoon of day one, which allowed participants to apply the process, one-on-one, for an existing customer in a shorter term/ad hoc type negotiation.

Blended Learning

This tool provides upfront training using text, web based modules and a webinar, combined with a one-day instructor-led session. It is designed for those clients who desire all of the teachings of the Strategic Negotiation Workshop with less time away from the office.

Web Based Training

This online course provides the instructor-led Strategic Negotiation content in a module-based web offering. It allows individuals to work through the workshop at their own pace, as well as provides testing on the concepts and process. This approach allows for those unable to attend a workshop in person to transition from their intuitive negotiation method to blueprinting a negotiation using the Strategic Negotiation Process.
